December 31st, 2001

Highlights:  This year, three of us (Greg, Kevin and Roger) spent New Year's Eve in Jacksonville.  We went to see Tech lose once again to FSU, this time in the Gatorbowl (one day, the story of the Sugarbowl 2000 will be told on Crackerjames.com, but not yet).  After getting completely trashed the night before, this New Year's was definitely not typical (see below):

As you can see, it was a beautiful day.  Our hotel was right by the beach, as Kevin poses in front of the Atlantic Ocean.

Greg went home early the previous night, due to some serious saucitude, and spent most of the day recovering (note:  this was really what Greg did for a majority of the day).

So, after three Hulk Hogans, we decided to go to our favorite sports bar down there (Sneakers), and see what happens.  None of us could eat even half our meals due to the prior night of drinking, but we somehow met these people (former Gators) in the booth behind us.  Here, Greg is seen with Mandi.

On the other side of the booth was Mike and his fiance' Christie.  If you look closely, you'll see some empty shot glasses.  Yes, somehow, we mustered up the powers to do shots.  Mike was very persuasive, especially when he said, "We're doing shots."

Here's a picture taken by Mandi of our "crew".  Foreshadowing of Kevin's future career in dancing and singing showtunes?

After Sneakers, Kevin and Roger headed to the very last day of existence of the Smuggler's Inn, where they met up with Joe again.  Making friends with townies on road trips, always unexpected.
